Randall Smith, President─SKA Financial Group
Randall’s career in the insurance industry spans more than twenty years. After leaving Northwestern Mutual in 1988, he became an independent agent, working closely with large producers, perfecting a wide variety of insurance strategies based on long-term planning.
He worked with mutual companies and their policyholder owners; he served on AIG’s Advisory Council; and developed strategic expertise accommodating HNW individuals with $10 million estates. Soon, Randall became one of the top producers in the country.
In the early 2000s, Randall took over SKA and rapidly transformed it from a traditional general insurance agency to a robust financial services firm with double-digit annual growth. He maintains an extensive business network of subject-matter experts with whom he shares idea generation and solution building. When he’s not brainstorming novel approaches to persistent problems, Randall spends time with his wife and five children in the great outdoors at his ranch in Wyoming.
Brett Bishop, Executive Vice President─SKA Financial Group
Brett works closely with Randall on a wide range of client financial challenges; he joined the firm in 2011. Brett specializes in enhancing client relationships, leveraging carrier relationships, expediting underwriting, and helping to facilitate premium financing. He’s currently working on his CFP designation.
A graduate of Fresno Pacific University with a B.A. in psychology, Brett also attended at the University of California Berkeley on a baseball scholarship, which partly accounts for his passion sports. He’s a big fan of the Giants, the 49ers, the Golden State Warriors. And he’s an enviable golfer, often breaking 72 on the links. When not working, Brett is a busy dad of two young children, son Beau and daughter Brennyn. He and Jillian, his wife, spend free hours in the park or at the beach with their high-energy kids.
Ryan Kenny, President─SKA Employer Solutions
Ryan joined the firm in 2011, and in 2015 was promoted to head up SKA Employer Solutions, which is predominately a provider of employee benefit packages including medical insurance, retirement plans, and human resource services.
He launched his career at ADP, the payroll services market leader, first as a sales executive, then as a senior district manager.
Like all the team members at SKA, Ryan maintains an active life outside of work. He and wife Katelyn are devoted pet parents to three rambunctious dogs. Both love to backpack near their Lake Tahoe cabin, and Ryan thrives as a part-time coach in youth soccer. What’s more, he serves as senior associate pastor at Encounter Church.
Allie Smith, Account and Underwriting Manager
Allie spends the majority of her time providing top-level service to clients, in addition to ensuring that underwriting and health benefits run smoothly. She’s devoted to the family business, along with Brett, her brother-in-law, because they prefer the unity and commitment it engenders. One day, they hope to earn the reins of leadership.
Allie’s a 2012 graduate of Saint Mary’s College with an undergraduate degree in business Marketing and Communications. She’s an avid traveler since her study abroad program, much to the dismay of her two weiner dogs, Gus and Henry.
